WE ARE A LEADING TRANSCRIPTION COMPANY
Transcription rates depend upon many factors which we have briefly outlined as follows:
Our transcription company rates vary depending on factors that may include, but are not limited to, the required turnaround time, clarity of voice, accents, audio quality, number of speakers, and technical terminology beyond industry standard.
Clients often assume that a transcriptionist can transcribe one hour of audio in one hour of real time. This is untrue. In fact, we speak four times faster than we type. What does this mean? In order for us to complete 1 hour of audio, it will take approximately 4 hours to complete to audio-to-text process.
TRANSCRIPT PRODUCTION TIME
The standard time-to- transcribe audio is about 15 minutes per 1 hour of audio. However, other factors such as the quality of audio, accents, and the number of speakers can also lead to an increase in the time required to complete a project. Audio transcription is a tricky process that requires strong attention to detail. Accurate and mistake-free transcripts require a trained ear and a skilled typist.
We offer an array of turnaround times and transcription rates. The fastest transcript turnaround time we offer is 24 hours. Most projects have a deadline of one week, and this tends to be an industry standard. Quality is directly related to expected turnaround times, projects with a longer turnaround time will yield higher quality transcripts due to additional time for the editing process.
Accents also change the price of a project if they are difficult to for our transcribers to understand. My Other Office will inform clients about potential accents in your audio files before any projects begin. The same rules apply to multiple speakers. The more voices present in an audio recording, the more challenging it is for a transcriptionist to provide an accurate transcript. Often, voices conflict or sound similar, which requires the transcriptionist to become familiar with various names in their effort to provide clarity.
Finally, the quality of the audio file itself is an important factor when providing a quoting for a project. If an audio file is low quality and has background noise, the price of a project will increase. Poor quality audio files take a long time to transcribe, as the transcriptionist is forced to replay segments of the audio several times.
